On February 21st, 2024, International Mother Language Day, we shared an incredible evening gathering with FirstVoices language teams from across the province to celebrate the 20th anniversary of FirstVoices.com.
Stories, celebration and laughter were shared as we recognized the achievements of community language teams and their dedicated efforts to document First Nations languages in British Columbia. We were honoured to announce the launch of the new FirstVoices logo, website design and improved site features to better support platform users. You can learn more about the platform updates here.
It was an evening filled with joy, recognition and appreciation. We raise our hands to everyone who was able to join us in celebration and to the many contributing hands who made this event possible.
