The FPCC Pathways to Language Vitality Program is open for applications for funding! Created in response to community feedback, this program provides funding and support for community-led projects that revitalize First Nations languages in B.C. and help create new fluent speakers.
Up to $250,000 in funding is available.
New applicants are encouraged to apply. Funding of $15,000-$100,000 is available for communities that have two years or less experience with FPCC language programs. FPCC staff are available to support you with your application.
Eligible community-led projects include:
- Adult language immersion programs
- Language Nests
- Language documentation
- Resource and materials development
- Language planning and community engagement
The Pathways Program combines four previously separate funding streams: the B.C. Language Initiative, Indigenous Language Grants, Language Nest Program and Language Gathering & Sharing Grants.
Combining these funding streams means applicants only need to complete a single form. The approach creates the opportunity for communities to implement multiple connected projects in a coordinated way, leading to greater outcomes.
