FPCC is now accepting applications for language planning grants for up to $100,000 in funding, plus resources and coaching. Funds can be used for wages, honoraria, equipment, resource materials and more.
The Language Revitalization Planning Program supports First Nations communities in B.C. to develop comprehensive, long-term plans to revitalize and strengthen their languages. The plans capture the community’s vision for the future of their Indigenous language and set the direction for future language programs. Language planning grants also help to build community awareness and support for language revitalization work. Applications will be accepted until January 25, 2022.
The program includes peer-to-peer sharing between program participants through virtual gatherings, resources and one-on-one coaching support from FPCC staff. We will be hosting an information session about this program and how to apply. Please see the registration information below.
This funding supports B.C. First Nations communities, governments, bands and tribal councils, Indigenous cultural, language and education centres, and academic institutions, as well as Indigenous community groups.
